Waste and Wastewater

A world leader in municipal water and wastewater flow measurement

We are the leading source in the United States for Venturi-type primary flow elements, with tens of thousands of successful installations nationwide and a substantial and growing volume throughout the world.

Most units have been for municipal water and wastewater installations, predominantly our HVT-CI cast iron Halmi Venturi-type primary flow elements in standard line sizes from 4.0" through 96.0" in gray or ductile iron.

Our patented PFS-Sealed Metering SystemTM enables accurate and reliable flow measurement of line fluids consisting of solids-bearing liquids for sewage as well as other contaminated line fluids. With our strong engineering, backed by extensive laboratory and field testing, our system has proven to be the benchmark in this area, surpassing its nearest competitors in performance and reliability.

We offer a full line of standard insert-type HVT primary flow elements, with material selection that includes stainless steel throat sections and any combination of carbon or stainless steel flange(s) and fiberglass reinforced plastic entrance and exit cones. These units are ideal for applications involving liquids as well as gas line fluids. Because of their design, they are intrinsically less expensive than cast or fabricated pressure vessel types.

Our HVT-FV line of fabricated primary flow elements is ideal for special materials selection, line sizes and beta ratios. Our usual line range is from 3/4" to 144", however we have the capabilities to manufacture much larger sizes and have fabricated up to 180”.

Additionally, we offers a number of patented open-channel flow devices that have considerable application in the water and wastewater fields.

We have also handled design and construction management for a number of cast-in-place rectangular HVT primary flow elements for municipalities, providing the critical fabricated and machined measurement cross sections as well as secondary instrumentation in most cases.
