Certifications & Compliances
PFS maintains ASME S & U, European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and ISO 9001 certifications. All products can also be supplied with Canadian Registration Number (CRN).
PFS is a contributor to various international standards committees, fully supporting our staff’s memberships to these commissions.
Individual products follow relevant industry regulations, including requirements specific to the oil and gas, water/wastewater, and power generation industries.
BABA and AIS Compliance
Primary Flow Signal Inc. has provided equipment that required compliance with AIS and BABA programs and we have also provided equipment for other state preference projects such as those requiring compliance with the Pennsylvania Steel Procurement Act.
It is important to understand that the AIS requirement is different than other domestic preference requirements. The AIS requirement is not the same as Buy American, Made in USA, Buy America Act, or any state domestic preference requirements.
Being compliant with the American Iron and Steel (AIS) Act means using iron and steel products that are produced in the United States for certain infrastructure projects, particularly those involving public water systems, wastewater treatment, and similar facilities. This requirement applies to projects receiving federal assistance.
Being compliant with the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) means using iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials that are produced in the United States for any federal infrastructure project, unless a waiver is granted.
- PFS has developed domestic USA raw material sources that allow us to provide 100% domestic USA materials as required by both the AIS and BABA programs.
- PFS machining, assembling, finishing and testing are all performed in the USA.
- PFS has developed a tracking and proof or origin system that supports our compliance with the AIS, BABA and other requirements for each project.
- Whenever sub-contractors are used in the manufacturing process, PFS provides an audited statement showing that the sub-vendor/sub-contractor is in full compliance with the requirements.
- PFS provides a certification letter on each project which completely demonstrates full compliance.
