Packaged Flow Metering System for Venturi-Based dP Measurement

The PFS Flow Master is a complete, packaged flow metering system that combines a Venturi meter (as the primary element) with a differential pressure transmitter (as the secondary instrument) in a single, compact assembly. By housing the secondary instrumentation and supporting components inside a rugged NEMA 4X enclosure, the Flow Master simplifies wiring, plumbing, and installation, while also making ongoing maintenance tasks like annual calibrations easier and more efficient.

When paired with a Venturi meter, whether cast iron flanged, fabricated, or insert designs, the Flow Master consolidates the “secondary group” typically required for a dependable dP measurement setup. Depending on the application, the enclosure may include:

  • One or more PFS-HP high performance transmitter(s)
  • Three-valve manifold(s)
  • A power supply
  • Surge suppressor(s)
  • A totalizer/indicator

Flow Metering System Key Advantages:

  • Faster, Cleaner Installation: Packaged enclosure reduces field wiring and plumbing complexity.
  • Protected, All-Weather Enclosure: NEMA 4X housing helps safeguard sensitive components from the environment.
  • Simplified Calibration & Service: Centralized layout improves access for verification and annual calibrations.
  • Configurable for the Application: Multiple options and accessories to match unique measurement needs.
  • Flexible Form Factors: Custom sizes and various mounting options to fit site constraints.

Note: Optional instrumentation, such as signal discrimination, chart recorders, linearizers, or other customized equipment, can also be integrated to meet specific field requirements

Typical applications include municipal and utility flow measurement as well as broader liquid and gas services, including water, air, steam, and most common process fluids, where a rugged, integrated Venturi and dP transmitter solution improves consistency and reduces installation effort.

Applications

Municipal & Utility Flow Measurement

Flow Master packaged systems are built for municipal environments where fast installation, protection from the elements, and easier calibration are priorities. Used with Venturi meters, they provide a compact, service-friendly metering setup for common utility media such as water, air, steam, and other frequently measured liquids and gases across treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution infrastructure.

Industrial Process Fluids & Gases

In industrial facilities, Flow Master simplifies Venturi based differential pressure measurement by packaging key secondary components in a protected enclosure. It is well suited for measuring most common liquids and gases, including plant air and steam services, while improving service access, reducing field wiring and tubing complexity, and supporting routine verification and calibration.
