Industry-Leading HVT Rate of Flow Controllers

The HVT fabricated Venturi flow Meter delivers precise, reliable flow measurement with broad design flexibility. End arrangements (flanged, threaded, welded, victaulic, The HVT-Halmi Venturi Flow Element in cast iron and ductile iron, offered exclusively by Primary Flow Signal, delivers the highest accuracy and reliability for flow measurement and control of pressurized line fluids—including liquids, gases, high-viscosity fluids, solids-bearing line fluids, and contaminated or harsh applications.

Flow rate control in municipal and industrial processes requires precision, repeatability, and consistency to ensure system integrity. Improper sizing or design of flow control elements can result in increased energy costs, poor process control, or even damage to costly filter beds. Unlike simply installing a meter and valve in series, true optimization requires analyzing the entire flow loop and selecting the right meter–valve combination.  For filter effluent and filter backwash rate of flow controller applications, PFS provides a complete System K analysis which plots valve disc position against headloss so as to prevent the valve disc from hunting for the most efficient position.

HVT-FC Rate of Flow Controller

Rate of flow controllers are engineered to match the unique flow conditions of each system, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. They can be designed using any style of HVT Venturi, including the FV, CI, DI, PI, FI, and RV series.

HVT Rate of Flow Controller Key Benefits:

  • Optimized Control & Accuracy: Designed as a complete flow loop solution, not just a meter-and-valve pairing, to deliver precise, repeatable flow regulation.
  • Durability & Longevity: Venturi-based design with no moving parts, resistant to erosion, and unaffected by downstream piping.
  • Clog-Free Reliability: No annular chambers eliminates plugging; suitable for solids-bearing and contaminated flows.
  • Versatile Operation: Effective at high velocities, supports turndown ratios of 10:1, 20:1, 50:1+, and can mount in any position.
  • Compact Design: Shortened laying lengths available to fit limited space installations.
  • Certified for Safety: NSF-61 approved coatings and materials are standard for potable water applications.

Applications

Water Treatment Plants

Rate of flow controllers are commonly used for filter effluent regulation and backwash flow control, helping protect filter media, maintain stable flow rates, and support consistent water quality.

Wastewater & Potable Water Systems

These controllers provide accurate influent and effluent flow regulation in wastewater facilities, supporting regulatory compliance and process efficiency. In potable water systems, NSF-61 approved coatings make them suitable for pumping stations, distribution networks, and billing applications.

Industrial & Power Generation

Rate of flow controllers are used in industrial and power applications to stabilize flow in steam systems, cooling water circuits, hydrocarbons, and chemical processing lines—protecting equipment and ensuring reliable operation.

Retrofit & Special Installations

Custom lay lengths allow rate of flow controllers to integrate into existing piping, making them a cost-effective solution for retrofits and special installations without major infrastructure changes.
