Industry-Leading Fabricated Venturi Meters

The HVT fabricated Venturi flow meter delivers precise, reliable flow measurement with broad design flexibility. End arrangements (flanged, threaded, welded, victaulic, etc.), along with a wide range of body materials and protective coatings, allow customization to meet pressure, temperature, flow range, fluid type, line size, laying length, and cost objectives.

Similar in operation to an ASME/ISO classical Venturi, the HVT design improves upon traditional geometry with higher accuracy, reduced permanent pressure loss, and a more compact footprint.

Key Benefits & Features of the Fabricated Venturi Meter:

Power Generation Flow Meters
  • Design Flexibility: Multiple end arrangements (flanged, mechanical joint, weld end, etc.) and body materials ensure compatibility with diverse piping systems and process requirements.
  • Durability & Longevity: Extended product life due to no moving parts and lower susceptibility to erosion, even in demanding environments.
  • High-Performance Measurement: Suitable for high-velocity applications, with turndown ratios of 10:1, 20:1, 50:1+ depending on model and type of secondary instrumentation used
  • Operational Reliability: No annular chambers eliminate plugging issues, while performance remains unaffected by downstream installation conditions and minimally affected by upstream piping.
  • Versatile Laying Lengths & Installation: Compact design allows mounting in any orientation, with shortened laying lengths available to fit limited-space installations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Standard NSF-61 potable water–approved coatings support municipal and industrial water applications.

Typical applications include municipal water distribution (raw water, wellfields, treatment plant influent/effluent, pumping stations, reclaimed water, and billing/compliance applications) as well as industrial process flows such as water treatment, oil production, chemical and petrochemical processing, hydrocarbons, LNG, HRSG, steam, and high-velocity liquid or gas measurement.

Specialized options are available to meet unique application needs, including the sealed metering system (HVT-SM) for solids-bearing, contaminated, or high-viscosity fluids. Flow Masters can also be integrated to provide fully automated control, management, and reporting capabilities.

Applications

Municipal Water & Wastewater

Fabricated Venturi flow meters are widely used for raw water, wellfields, and treatment plant influent and effluent measurement. Common applications include pumping stations, reclaimed water systems, and billing or regulatory monitoring where long-term accuracy and durability are required.

Industrial Process Flows

In industrial environments, fabricated Venturis provide reliable flow measurement for water treatment, oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical processes, LNG systems, and other services where resistance to erosion and contamination is critical.

Power Generation

Venturi meters are well suited for high-velocity steam and water measurement in HRSG systems and other power plant processes. Their low permanent pressure loss supports efficient flow monitoring in both conventional and renewable energy facilities.

General High-Velocity Applications

Fabricated Venturis are used wherever consistent measurement of high-velocity liquids or gases is required. Their rugged construction and wide turndown ratios deliver dependable performance with minimal maintenance over long service life.
