Metal Fabricated and Plastic Insert Venturi Meter (HVT-FI, HVT-PI) for Accurate, Low-Loss Flow Measurement

The PFS insert Venturi meter is engineered for reliable differential pressure flow measurement in clean gases and liquids where low head loss and high accuracy matter. Designed to install between existing pipe flanges, the HVT-FI (metal fabricated insert) and HVT-PI (plastic or fiberglass insert) integrate cleanly into the pipeline while supporting a wide range of line sizes and material requirements.

A key advantage of the insert Venturi is material flexibility. The meter can be custom-fabricated from many machinable materials, including fiberglass, making it a strong fit for corrosive services or installations where metallic materials are not preferred. For large line sizes, static inlet taps and a grouted-in design are available. Digester gas configurations can also be fitted with high and low-pressure tap vent cleaners to help clear buildup on piezometer taps.

Key Advantages & Features:

  • Easy Between-Flange Installation: Inserts between flanges, making it a practical solution for new builds or upgrades.
  • Low Head Loss: Venturi design keeps pressure loss low compared to many differential pressure devices.
  • Long-Term Reliability: No moving parts means fewer failure points, reducing maintenance needs and increasing service life.
  • Repeatable, Consistent Performance: Repeatability of plus or minus 0.1% supports stable, repeatable measurement.
  • Minimal Installation Effects: No downstream installation effect and minimal upstream effect for easier integration into real piping layouts.
  • Material flexibility: Available in fabricated and plastic or fiberglass insert configurations to match challenging service requirements.
  • High-Velocity Capability: Well-suited for applications requiring strong performance at higher velocities.
  • Scales With Your Needs: Wide turndown capabilities depending on design and instrumentation.
  • Flexible Mounting: Mounts in any position to accommodate layout constraints.

The insert Venturi meter is commonly used where teams need accurate, low-maintenance measurement for clean services, including potable water and water treatment processes, wastewater treatment support applications, clean air and gas services, and other clean liquid applications.

Applications

Municipal Water & Wastewater Treatment

Used by city utilities to measure clean water flow in treatment and distribution systems, and to support clean services within wastewater plants. The Insert Venturi Meter is a strong fit for raw water, finished water, and process flows, as well as aeration basin and sparge air applications where reliable differential pressure measurement helps stabilize blower control, improve energy efficiency, and keep treatment performance consistent.

Industrial Compressed Air & Plant Utility Gases

Well-suited for industrial facilities measuring clean compressed air and utility gases in manufacturing plants, refineries, and chemical processing sites. Its between-flange installation makes it a practical option for upgrades, while the no-moving-parts design helps reduce maintenance demands in critical utility headers.
